A former graphic designer and photographer, Nathalie Richard trained in ceramic techniques in 2016 and opened her studio in Paris. Her work focuses on the relationship between clay and glaze, explored through harmony and contrast. Working mainly with black chamotte stoneware—and occasionally porcelain—she reveals the forces embedded in matter, from mineral density to watery reflections. Primarily wheel-thrown, her forms are then off-centered and deformed, producing dense, volcanic silhouettes softened by sensuous curvature.
