ewellery designer and founder of PRINCE
Lives and works in France
Lucas Giraud-Bouraoui is a French designer of Algerian heritage and the founder of PRINCE, a jewellery project rooted in Amazigh culture and Tuareg craftsmanship. Through his practice, he creates a dialogue between contemporary design, traditional know-how and cultural transmission.
Giraud-Bouraoui’s interest in Tuareg craftsmanship began during his teenage years. At the age of nineteen, he first considered developing his own pieces in collaboration with Tuareg silversmiths. Today, he designs the jewellery for PRINCE as well as the visual identity and campaigns surrounding each collection.
In 2024, his encounter with Ibrahim Khamed Rissa, a Tuareg silversmith from Niger based in France with more than fifty years of experience, marked the beginning of a close collaboration. Giraud-Bouraoui’s designs are handcrafted by Ibrahim Khamed Rissa and his collaborators, making each piece the result of an exchange between contemporary design and inherited artisanal knowledge.
The first collection, ARMES BLANCHES, was released in 2025 alongside the campaign Notre nouvelle noblesse, conceived around the representation of North African and, more broadly, African diasporas within contemporary fashion. In 2026, CONTRASTES, developed through six months of collaboration between the designer and the silversmith, further extended this research.
Through PRINCE, Giraud-Bouraoui approaches jewellery as a space of encounter between heritage and contemporary creation. The worn object becomes at once material, symbol and vehicle for transmission, bringing individual identity into dialogue with cultural memory and collective craftsmanship.
