Lives and works between Paris and Venice
Pablo Ricchetti is a Franco-Italian artist whose practice develops between figurative painting and the observation of everyday life. A graduate in Painting from the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, where he received the jury’s highest honours, his work focuses on contemporary forms of representation, human relationships and the memory of images.
Working primarily with oil on canvas, Ricchetti draws from photographs and fragments of daily life — images captured in the moment, circulated and often destined to disappear. Through painting, he removes these images from the immediacy of the digital flow and gives them another duration, materiality and presence.
His recent series Jeunesse Parisienne (2025–2026) centres on scenes from a generation and its everyday rituals: gatherings, evenings, friendships, demonstrations and moments of intimacy. Bodies, gestures and gazes become traces of a world in motion, oscillating between proximity and distance, shared experience and a sense of estrangement.
The transition from photographic image to painted surface lies at the core of his process. Rather than reproducing the original image, Ricchetti slows it down and reconstructs it through paint. What was instantaneous becomes enduring; what belonged to the continuous circulation of images is transformed into a physical object and a form of memory.
Through this process, Ricchetti examines the distance between lived experience and its representation, and the way seemingly ordinary images can become repositories of individual and collective memory.
His work has been exhibited in France and Italy, notably at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, Galleria Terzo Spazio in Venice, and in several group exhibitions in Paris.
