Based in Neuchâtel (Switzerland) since 1988 and trained in graphic arts, Gabriele Chirienti is a visual artist and photographer whose practice lies at the intersection of photography, anthropological investigation, and material experimentation.

At the core of his work is an exploration of urban space, approached as a living organism—a territory shaped by constant tensions between the post-industrial artificial environment and the persistence of the biological.

Rejecting the limitations of purely digital two-dimensionality, Chirienti embraces mixed media as his preferred mode of expression. For him, the image is never a static endpoint, but rather a physical, malleable body to be cut, layered, and recomposed.

His works combine the precision of visual documentation with a sculptural sensibility, transforming the photographic medium into a three-dimensional element capable of entering into a physical dialogue with the exhibition space.
