Karima Ben Cheikh
Lives and works in Paris – France
Tunisian-Moroccan artist Karima Ben Cheikh moved from graphic design to a pictorial practice centered on memory and imagination.
Since 2022, oil painting has become her primary medium. Through a process of layering, she deposits successive strata of matter, covering, scraping, and reopening the surface to reveal traces and sedimented gestures.
Her paintings evoke inner landscapes where memories, dreams, and fragments of stories intertwine. The canvas becomes a space of excavation and reappearance, where memory emerges through both erasure and revelation.
