A graduate of the Besançon School of Fine Arts, Julie Bernet-Rollande has developed a practice centred on drawing, using graphite, charcoal, and watercolour to create quietly contemplative works inspired by the natural world. Her practice is rooted in careful observation, embracing slowness, silence, and an attentive engagement with the subtle forms and rhythms of living systems.

Rather than depicting nature as a subject, Bernet-Rollande approaches it as an autonomous presence that exists independently of human activity. Oscillating between abstraction and figuration, her drawings reveal animal forms, organic structures, and imagined landscapes that evoke the invisible relationships connecting living organisms to their environments.

Her work unfolds organically rather than through clearly defined series.
